Mouk is a cartoon based on Marc Boutavant's works that will introduce you to a little adventurer named Mouk and his friend Chavapa. They travel around the world on their bikes and introduce you, each time, to a new country, some of its characteristics and its endemic species: tiger, cat, coyote, grey fox, etc. The series is a must-have toolkit that can help teachers practice some oral communication strategies. After each episode, students can share their reactions, ask their friends questions, participate in small debates, learn new words, and reuse them in discussions, etc. By discovering new countries, students learn to locate them geographically and the wildlife that distinguishes them, which is a perfect opportunity for teachers to engage in science lessons, covering habitats and communities. Finally, Mouk provides practical tools to develop a range of transferable skills for students. From Spain to Morocco, Mongolia, Peru and Canada, this series gives students many opportunities to speak up and ask questions, and allows them to visualize concrete examples of collaboration and problem solving (Mouk and Chavapa finding a lost animal, helping an archaeologist, giving a hand to the mailman, etc.). A perfect series that opens a small window to the world, but a big door to broaden the horizons of youngsters and enable them to get away while having fun!
