Drôles de croissants

Lucas and Thomas are going to buy sweets at the bakery. Lucas waits outside while Thomas lines up inside. The baker ignores him and serves the other customers who pass in front of him. Célestin pushes Thomas to assert himself and make the baker aknowlegde him.

Mom and dad want to have a private conversation and ask Lucas to leave them alone in the living room. Lucas does not understand why he is being sidelined. Celestin advises him to surprise his parents by proving that he is old enough to understand many things.

Students in Lucas's class take the train to the go to the seashore. In the train compartment, a traveler reads his newspaper and lights a pipe ignoring the children around him. But Celestin encourages them to enforce the non-smoking seats. The controller arrives and gives a fine to the ill-advised smoker.

In a grocery store, Omar, a young man of Turkish origin cannot make himself understood by the grocer because he does not speak French very well. He has trouble identifying the labels. Victor mocks Omar, which bothers Emma and Lucas. Célestin encourages them to help Omar and they all come to understand each other. Omar will thank them…

Lucas made his team win the soccer game. He is very proud and wants to let his parents know about it; but no one is willing to listen. Célestin encourages him to be noticed, because it is normal that everyone is entitled to their share of attention in the house.

Victor, Lucas and Thomas go rollerblading. Lucas, who has forgotten his knee pads, lets himself be dragged by Victor into a speed race. Lucas falls and grazes his knee. Emma and Thomas comfort him and insist on going to the pharmacy for treatment.

Lucas, who plays music banging on pots and pans, ends up causing everyone to lose patience. Celestin advises Lucas to tell his parents that he would like to play music. The next day, mom takes Lucas to music school to choose the instrument he wants to learn: the drums!

Lucas, who has to speak in public on World Children's Day, is nervous. Celestin helps him relax and regain self-confidence. When the time comes, Lucas, ready, wa;ks to the microphone facing all students, parents and teachers, and he states the articles of the Charter of Children's Rights.

Lucas arrives early at the neighborhood party and offers the organizer who is overwhelmed to help him, but time passes and the organizer no longer releases Lucas. Lucas sees her chatting. Lucas comes home from school hoping to rest after a good snack before joining Thomas. But he has to help mom and once the chores are done he falls asleep. A child is not as efficient as an adult, he must be allowed to have more free time.

At school, the teacher asks the new student, Raphaël, to introduce himself to the class. Raphael does this with difficulty because he suffers from stuttering. As Victor laughs at him, Lucas and his friends come to his defense. Victor is punished by the teacher for making fun of Raphael's handicap.

Mom, Dad and Lucas are stuck in traffic on carnival day. Mom and Dad complain, but Lucas actually wants to enjoy the parade. Celestin encourages him to tell his parents who agree to stop.
