The children discuss the work White Bear by François Pompon. This sculpture is exhibited at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. This bear is also very famous. François' specialty was animal sculptures. It took Pompon a while to find his style but he found that animals pose much better than humans because they never lose their naturalness. He spent many hours watching wild animals. This polar bear is made of stone and is 1.60 meters high, 2.50 meters long and weighs about 3 tons. This monumental work always impresses the general public. François Pompon is known for his modern and simplistic style!
