Préfixe et suffixe

In addition to the video on word families, this video discusses prefixes and suffixes. Prefixes are groups of letters that are placed before the root to form a derivative word from the same family. They can be used to form antonyms (in-, im-, il-, mal-, mé-, dé-, dés-, a-) or repetitions (ré-, re-). There are many other prefixes (ex-, extra-, inter-, poly-, etc.). It is possible to understand the meaning of words by looking up the meaning of prefixes and roots. Suffixes are also groups of letters, but they come after the root (-ette, -eur, -iste, etc.).
The video presents the differences between proper and common nouns using concrete examples from everyday life—such as the first name of our friend, the name we give our pets, and even the names of places we know. Emphasis is placed on the importance of capital letters for proper nouns, even in the middle of a sentence.
