Pourquoi parle-t-on différentes langues?
There are between 3000 and 7000 languages in the world, but where do they come from? How is a new language created? Where does language come from? The origins of language are difficult to define with precision. Scientists believe that Australopithecus did not have a larynx developed enough to build a language. Neanderthals may have been the first to produce complex sounds. As humans travel, they move away and adapt to the place where they live. With these changes come new languages. For a new language to be created, there must be sufficient distance in time or space. French speakers do not use the same words all over the world and generations also have different words. Languages evolve, borrow words from each other, and see vocabulary disappear and appear. With globalization, many languages will disappear. Linguists estimate that 50-90% of languages could disappear in the next 100 years.
