Diva, 10, from Toronto, Ontario, is a proud trans girl with Bahamian, Jamaican and Canadian identities. A Francophile, Diva attends a French immersion school and shows us how she practices French outside the classroom. She shares her pride in her homeland through her favorite dish, beignets de conques, and by telling us about Dean's Blue Hole, a deep underwater cavern, as well as traditional celebrations like the twice-yearly Junkanoo Festival.
As a trans girl, Diva tells us about her queer blended family and her activism. She also tells us about the two pride flags and the history of the creation of ballroom dance. Through her activism work with the Black Lives Matter movement, she nurtures the hope of becoming a committed activist in the service of social issues close to her heart. In fact, she receives a surprise message and invaluable advice from Priyanka, winner of the first season of Drag Race Canada and star of We're Here.
