In front of the school, the teacher stops the cars and lets the children cross. Lucas and Thomas cross alone, busy with an exciting conversation, feeling safe because of the green signal. At the next crossing, an accident is likely to happen without Célestin's intervention. Lucas realizes that before he crosses, he must look both ways to make sure the cars have seen him.
