In this episode, the children discuss the work Arearea (also known as Joyeusetés) by Paul Gauguin. For the French painter Paul Gauguin, if paradise existed on earth, it might look like this. What Gauguin liked to paint above all was wild places, preserved from modernization. In his painting, Gauguin wanted to show the world in its wild state, its deep origins. This painting represents a paradisiacal world, a pure, simple, joyful world. Gauguin mixed all the colors because he wanted to invent a revolutionary art, a wild and pure art that does not follow the right colors or the right proportions. Long live the red dogs, the purple tree trunks and the lawns of all colors!
