·2014
The nerve message is the whole of the information which passes from nerve cell to nerve cell. It is the particular structure of these cells called neurons that allows the propagation of the message. This message, electric along the neurons, is made of elementary units, the action potentials, brief inversions of the membrane potential. It is transmitted chemically from one neuron to another at the level of synapses, by means of neurotransmitters.
