Gang de hockey
The series Gang de hockey presents the ups and downs of a girls' hockey team that is set up against all odds at La Vallée high school. Nadie, a 15-year-old hockey novice, joins the team and becomes the goalie. Over the course of the series, through situations of adversity but also open camaraderie, the teammates go through many of the trials and tribulations of adolescence, and together they develop team spirit, perseverance, love and, above all, friendship.
The 3 capsules in season 2 take a look at the history and current state of women's hockey in Canada thanks to three passionate experts: author of the book "Nos Glorieuses" Lynda Baril, sports sociologist Barbara Ravel and goalkeeper and Olympic gold medallist Kim St-Pierre.
The series tackles important subjects such as self-confidence, commitment, positive motivation, identity-building and leadership. Nadie navigates new feelings of love, maintaining team spirit while stepping out of her comfort zone. Gang de hockey tackles the ups and downs of adolescence with candour. Socio-emotional learning is at the heart of this not-to-be-missed series.
Through classroom discussions, students will learn about the importance of developing skills such as collaboration, communication, problem-solving and independent learning.
