Égalité fille garçon
Equality between girls and boys is a fundamental principle. The Education Code reminds us that the values of equality must be taught from elementary school. Indeed, stereotypes are assimilated from a very young age. Girls and boys conform to what is expected of them according to their sex. Girls and boys are equal and laws protect this equality. Stereotypes challenge this equality and compartmentalize everyone into a role. Students need to understand that they have the right to be respected, to play the sports they want, to do the jobs they want, etc. Conforming girls and boys into certain roles creates inequalities in adulthood in terms of wages, types of jobs available, intellectual abilities, etc.
