Hymne migratoire
In 1997, Annie Pembe Mponda was suddenly forced to leave the Republic of Congo and flee to Canada to escape the country's growing violence. She took her 4-year-old son Wagner with her, but had to leave her two daughters, Kisha and Miriam (4 months and 2 years), with their grandmother. Annie's path to Canadian citizenship is a long and difficult one, but it's the hope of one day being reunited with her three children that gives her strength and courage. Kisha and Miriam have been singing together since they were very young, and their songs soothe their worries when they feel lonely. Music becomes the thread that guides them from the maternal love of their grandmother in Kinshasa to reconciliation with their mother and this new life in Canada, filled with love and hope.
