Bernie is out of prison and is talking to Mireille about opening his own mechanic shop once he has completed his therapy. In the meantime, he insists on being on welfare, although Mireille offers him money. When he refuses to help, Mireille makes an irresistible offer: to make money by betting on a 'fixed' horse race. It is at this moment that Dalpé reveals the hidden link between Mireille and Bernie's father. In prison, Zach is about to visit the priest.
