Les bouquinours
Les Bouquinours (The Book Hungry Bears) love storybooks. They hunt them out and settle down to read them together. Snuggle up to them and share the pleasure of reading with two new books each episode.
This series aims to promote literacy, love of reading, and well-being in preschool children and to support the development of key learning in young children. First, the cheerful little bears model the behaviors to adopt while reading a book: listening, reading the cover, turning the pages... Then, while observing the images, the children will learn to:
- react to reading (during and after reading)
- make personal connections
- make predictions or imagine the rest of the story
- interpret the moral of the story
By being immersed in the stories of the Book Hungry Bears, children are led to marvel at the world of reading and to develop their imagination and critical thinking by reacting to the stories. Finally, the bears model the learning of social skills and self-regulation that are so important at this age: while playing, they are making friends, they show adaptation and flexibility when facing new situations, etc.
