Nos histoires, notre histoire: La contestation jusqu'en prison, le mouvement « C'est l'temps! »

On this September 25, Franco-Ontarian Day, let's remember that in September 1975, a vast movement of civil disobedience was born in Ontario: it became known as "C'est l'temps!" "C'est l'temps!" was orchestrated by young Franco-Ontarians, angry at their inability to access justice in French in Ontario. "C'est l'temps!" demanded the fundamental right of Franco-Ontarians to be able to express themselves freely in French before the courts of their province, as well as French-language tickets, license plates, municipal by-laws and driver's licenses, among other things. To achieve this, they chose to provoke the courts and politicians with a variety of tricks that would land their members... in jail.
