This video explains what is meant by '7th continent'. Indeed, in the oceans, there are clusters of waste due to marine currents and mainly composed of plastic. This plastic, very useful in our daily life in many products, arrives in nature and in the oceans for 10% of the plastic produced. The waste thrown by land ends up in rivers and oceans. Our waste exported to other countries is stored in open dumps and the wind pushes it to have the same journey. The equipment used by fishermen is also often left in the oceans. Within 30 years, there will be more plastic than fish in the oceans.
