It's the first day of school at Collège Louis-Riel. This year, Danis wants to coach the Grade 8 boys in basketbal. The teacher brings them to order and explains what it takes to be a coach. Max has an important dance audition, but has trouble concentrating on the choreography. Mia-Lee goes on a date with her boyfriend Li, who is 4 years older than her. It's her first serious relationship, and she sees herself in it for the long haul, despite their very different cultures. After visiting her seriously ill grandfather, Janelle wants to finish the special project she started with him as soon as possible.
