Cristian de la Luna
Cristian De La Luna brings an unexpected warmth to the Edmonton music scene. Originally from Colombia, his family first found political asylum in Jonquière, Quebec, when he was a teenager. His father was the subject of a conspiracy in their native country, and was incarcerated for several years. But these experiences, which could have been traumatic for Cristian, actually taught him a great lesson about life: out of difficulties often emerge priceless beauty. After learning French in Quebec, he settled in St-Albert, near Edmonton, Alberta. His musical career evolved in both French and Spanish. But he doesn't choose the language of his writing; it's the language that imposes itself. When asked why he chose this stage name, his wife, who is also his manager, explains that it's because he's often in the moonlight! Cristian's family plays a big part in the development of his songs. When he feels ready, he presents them to them, and gathers feedback from his children, as well as his wife, even if they are sometimes too direct for his taste. At the end of the day, he wants his family to be satisfied with his work.
