When your father goes so far as to put together a band to set the mood at family parties, it's easy for a child to imagine becoming a musician. Justin Lacroix is a singer-songwriter from Winnipeg. He juggles with vulnerability, because he feels more alive in those moments. He compares his experience on stage to riding a motorcycle, and seeks that feeling of abandonment. A tragic event marked the course of his life. When he was 22, one of his brothers died in a car accident. At the time, Justin was working in a school computer division. He decided to drop everything and devote himself entirely to his music. It was only after his brother's death that he began writing and composing to help him cope with his grief. The Justin Lacroix Band is made up of four musicians who have been playing together for a long time. His career has taken him to Montreal, but his band is based in Winnipeg, where his path has brought him back. His bilingual music is like him, and he won't change it, even if it doesn't meet with unanimous approval.
